Saturday Bike Ride

Saturday I took my first bike ride since July. We biked over to La Penita, and on the way passed by two women from Teotitlan del Valle in Oaxaca selling handwoven rugs. The rugs are made by a cooperative with their goal being to make their handcrafts with the ancient and traditional method that their ancestors did. They are against the synthetic dyes, and they have discovered a range of colors using natural plants. Every rug was beautiful and I would have bought any one of them.

In La Penita, we stopped at Hala's Hamaca shop. Just one half block from there, we had to eat a fish
taco and a shrimp taco at Hinde and Jaime's newly opened restaurant nearby. Delicious and only 8 pesos each (75 cents).

After picking up a video at the movie rental we rode back to Guayabitos and stopped at our friends house near the beach and this is their view of the mountains behind them, and a view of La Penita to their right.

A common dog around here is this while curly haired type.

Have you ever seen a VW bug like this one?

Here is a good way to transport things or people and stay in shape.

Here is a man working an agave field, the plant tequila is made out of, just a few miles from where we live.

A few miscellaneous photos

Walking past a butcher shop in La Penita. Have you ever seen this in the States?
