The decor in the home is Mexican and Guatemalan. Here is Victor in his new garment, a Huipile blouse from Guatemala. I think he looks quite exotic, a new look for him, a change from the boring short sleeve button down collar work shirt and Guayaberas shirt he wears when he volunteers in the clinic, which to me looks like a uniform. We are slowly getting settled into our new home on the hill. Every night I try to take a photo of the sunset, just to see how many variations of it there are. We shall see!

Eating meals has become a delightful experience up on the hill. With a view of the entire Bay of Jaltemba, the island, and the Pacific Ocean in front of us while dining, any food consumed becomes tastier, just like when you go camping and everything tastes so good when it is devoured in the outdoors.

The sunsets vary every night, and this one was a cloudier, more overcast evening than usual. Notice the tree on the left, it is like a pine tree from Minnesota almost. Very pretty and exquisite. I was so surprised a couple years ago, when we took our 3 month road trip through Mexico and we left Villahermosa to head up and over the mountain to reach Oaxaca. The foliage going up the mountain from the jungle area was tropical and lush. Going down on the other side toward Oaxaca it became like a Northern Minnesota forest with the pines (firs?) trees and it made me feel like home.
Here is a full shot of the earlier photo of Victor in the Huipole which is used as a wall art hanging. As I have said before, the colors seen in Mexico and Central America are so gorgeous. They are seen everyday on the outside of buildings and homes, in the clothing worn by the young women, in the traditional clothing of the indigenous people, in the arts and crafts, the textiles as you see in the Huipole here, the abundant variety of fruits and vegetables in the market, in the beautiful trees with the flowers that take the place of the leaves, in the many many flowers growing all over in people's yards and along the highways and lastly in the sunset of the sky each night with the pinks, oranges, purples, and blues. Our world is one of color! It is a beautiful world!
