noon and came upon this great VW convention right here in town at the plaza. I hurriedly biked home to get my SX-70 polaroid camera so we could do some photo manipulations of this unique event. The Volkswagen has quite a history in Mexico. The final bug was manufactured in Puebla, Mexico on July 30, 2003. But the VW is still seen all over Mexico and it was so much fun to see in what great condition many of them were at this convention.

SX-70 polaroid manipulation is a dying art, what with Polaroid being bought up by Petter Company a year ago, and th
e decision was made to discontinue the manufacturing of the SX70 or TImeZero film. It felt something like how an artist would feel if it was the discontinuance of oil paints or brushes! I bought up a ton of the film, which is stored in my fridge, but with that expiration date looming, I have to really get busy and shoot, shoot, shoot. It would be great to drive to some beautiful Mexican colonial city and photograph some unsual architecture and street scenes. Maybe Guanajuato or San Miguel Allende is next on the schedule when it gets too hot here and we have to escape to higher elevations for cooler temps and lower humidity.
